Sort of reminds me of this crossing signal in Melbourne.

However, this suburban crossing has a wishbone gate, yet it doesn't stick out!

Old style cantilevers and Harmon gate mechs in CaƱon City, Colorado.

https://www.google.com.au/maps/@38.4413 ... 312!8i6656

More Harmon Gate Mechs further down the line.

The bell (a GS E-Bell) is mounted on the relay case. (Probably the first time I've seen that for an E-Bell)
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@38.4362 ... 312!8i6656

I've never seen them mount the lights in this position before.

Two crossbucks on one signal!

Another Harmon Gate mech + another crossing with the bell mounted on the relay case.

https://www.google.com.au/maps/@38.4057 ... 312!8i6656

More E-bells mounted on relay cases.

Definitely unique to see an e-bell mounted like that. This bell replaced a Safetran mechanical bell:

I wonder why they sometimes do that at crossings, I can't image the benefits of doing that, if anything it makes it less audible to motorists.

Cheaper, as there's less wiring to run, I bet.

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.1805908 ... 6656?hl=en

Here are the new signals in action!
https://youtu.be/P7k8vnstemc?t=4m52s

Apparently those signals hadn't been functional for years, the crossing was flagged when there was a train, here is a video of it being flagged.
https://youtu.be/XBIDZ2VodhI?t=2m47s

And when they were functional they were manually controlled.

Interesting signals.

Most of the crossings above have already been posted here with some of them being originally posted by me. I just thought they were worth being re-posted.
----------------------------
Here is an old signal on display with a teardrop along with a caboose, and two crossbucks!
https://www.google.com/maps/@41.3219166 ... 6656?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@41.3216039 ... 6656?hl=en

The track that the caboose is on a piece of track that was part of a line that ran from Grand Rapids to Indiana. I found this display when I followed the line on Google Earth, the track is gone but you can still see where the line was.

Why re-post them then if there haven't been any updates to them then? :Tongue1:
