I do like that Wig-Wag at Lakeside. Anyways, I rode Puffing Billy on Australia Day (1/26) 2014. Loco 12A (IIRC) hauled our train to Gembrook. There's loads of good sencery around the line (such as that wonderful horseshoe trestle bridge, and the view of Emerald lake). I did get quite a shock seeing not one, but three crossings with boom barriers! While it's a shame to see them replace the older signals, I do give them props for using Westinghouse Hybrids rather than e-bells! (Also, a bit of instresting trivia for you guys. At the time of riding it, I couldn't tell the difference between a McK&H Teardrop and a Westinghouse Hybrid, thus, I thought they were both the same!) I think on the way back from the Brighton dog beach back in early 2013, we got stuck at the Grange Road level crossing in Carnegie and at the time, it still had a teardrop bell! This was probably the only other teardrop I've seen in action. Since then, they've replaced with a hybrid bell. Speaking of which, on the way to the beach, we would of crossed the North Road level crossing in Ormond. I think we got stopped at it on a few occasions, it was nice seeing trains going through that crossing. Shame Daniel Andrews ruined it by grade separating it a few months ago. (If we ever go their again, all I'll see is the eneterance to the new below ground Ormond station
).
