I wired them directly into that little box on the signal...so about a minute or less...

On a side note...I sold that signal on eBay yesterday...take a look at how much it went for!!! :Scared:  :TUP1:

Did the GS bell go with it, or a different bell?

That was cool selling that bell. It isn't like it's going to be hard to get more of them.

Well, that mast signal did sell...and it's been picked up. I did, however...get my Safetran Model 500 Motion Sensor working...
Overview of unit. I really need to get some jumper wires...instead of using screwdrivers...LOL!

The card to the very right is the Island card. The LED lit up on it means the island is clear. The second card in from the right...is the relay drive card...keeps the crossing relay...XR....up when there isn't any motion detected. The second light lit from the top is the MOT (Motion) light. It goes out when motion is detected...therefore starting the crossing. It's really simple...even though it looks complicated.

I snagged these units off of eBay too... Nobody won the auction...and I offered the seller a price to buy them for...since he wasn't planning to re-list it. It should be here sometime this week...

These are Safetran Model 600 MS/GCP (Motion Sensor/Grade Crossing Predictor) units. It can be used as a Motion Sensor...which means that as soon as a moving train enters the crossing circuit...the signals will activate...but if the train stops in the approach...they will clear up...and re-start again once the train begins to move towards the crossing. The GCP part of the unit...if used (which mine doesn't have the cards...you can see them missing in the pictures) will only activate the crossing when the train is about 25 to 30 seconds away...regardless of speed.

Here is a demonstration video of the unit in operation with a test dummy track circuit:

Here are some pictures from my current signal project. I did sell that one signal with the WRRS box near the bottom.

My current project consists of mounting a WABCO Model 75 mechanism to a seperate pole behind a flashing light signal. I'll be moving the signal pictured below in front of the mechanism pole, like an old classical setup. New York Central had signals like these at Oak St. in Wyandotte, MI back in the 50's and 60's. I'll be taking more pictures as the project progresses.

Here's your answer:

It needs some repairs...like the ratchet wheel for the hold clear, it slips, and doesn't catch. That's why they removed it...because it continually pumped on and off for about 8 months. It still works great though...suprisingly...

Did you end up selling that Safetran S mech?
Well, I don't have any plans for it currently...but I do in the future. I just need to get some land...once I get a job with the railroad...and then I'll be using it...

Yep, I did sell the Safetran one.
