And just think... He crash landed a couple of miles away from here about 9 years ago.

He died of Pancreatic cancer, which is one of the really nasty versions of cancer. By the time it is detectable, it has already sealed your fate. The few who have survived 5 years after diagnosis were found by pure lucky chance extremely early.

I'm old enough to remember when breast cancer had the same parameters: diagnose and die. That is no longer the case. Perhaps they'll get a better handle on this one someday.

The self examination is exactly the same for men as it is for women. If anyone on the forum has a family history of breast cancer, then learn how to check yourself. My older sister died from breast cancer a few years ago, and believe me, I'm checking.

Mary Travers from Peter, Paul, and Mary died the other day from leukemia....Had no idea she had it!!
