Here is a clock-ticking bell on a crossing in Germany, sounds satisifying to me for some reason.

Hard to tell, but it sounds like one of these WRRS motor bells sounds extremely flat.

That's a CSX crossing too! I didn't realize they had crossings with continuously-ringing bells. Is that Michigan state law or something?

I personally think so, as NS's crossings up there typically have the bells ring while the gates are down as well. Seems like Michigan requires every crossing signal to have a bell and for the bells to remain on until the crossing deactivates.

Also, in terms of more flat bells, the least mechanical bell in Folkston (a WCH mechanical bell at Martin Street) sounds really bad now, and is probably about to die:
