Seems that after so many "hits" they would consider moving the signal back and to the right a bit to keep this from happening.

Google caught it active in 2008 as well. Notice in these shots the "side" lights are on the bottom. They obviously changed the configuration (several times it appears) in an attempt to keep it from getting damaged so often. Obviously that didn't work out too well.
