also, I agree something is off. how does a bell go from perfect to flat in that little time? :Blink:

Depends, all i can think of is the winters in Missouri, or just gong rotation.

Because after all, the temperatures can drop presumably low enough for bells to freeze and become damaged, now i'm not an expert but we have seen frozen gongs before.

Well, listening to this video, it seems like the bell was already starting to have trouble back in 2014, as it was ringing rather unevenly when Kight last recorded it:

Well, a close-up of the signal with the bad bell was gotten recently. The bell has gotten a bit of a tune-up, but it still misses a good few beats while ringing:

Makes me wonder if it's either not getting enough voltage or if something is causing the magnet to malfunction?
