I'd say out of service yes, but CSX did replace that gate in 2013.

I should possibly go out to this crossing sometime. It'd have to be on a weekend though since it's in an industrial park that is heavily-packed weekdays and a ghost on weekends. :Tongue1:
You should get the other crossings in the Tampa area with 8 inch lights as well. Maybe even the street-running ones.
It would be great to see these signals on the site!

I've been meaning to make a trip to downtown to walk around for a time and I totally didn't think about those! I shall do that sometime now that you reminded me! :WOOT:

As much as I'd love to, all the 8" signals that still exist around Tampa are in bad neighborhoods.

That is why I have no plans of documenting this crossing as much as I would love to.

Didn't stop me from documenting crossings in Birmingham, AL, or in the bad parts of Nashville, TN; Decatur, AL; and Huntsville, AL. :Tongue1: The trick is really just to be quick and to not disturb anyone. Having someone go with you can also be helpful. If necessary, you can also get the "abbreviated" photo amounts, which I can list for you if you want.

Active crossing in Glenview, IL... a suburb of Chicago.

Interesting...

Some sort of work going on with this older cantilever. Also notice the 3M traffic signals. Those are getting harder and harder to find...

On the ground to the right of the cantilever base you can see something which looks like a Safetran m-bell. The WCH m-bell on top of the cantilever looks new, so maybe they had just replaced the Safetran one.

Here is a view from 2014 showing the Safetran bell https://www.google.com/maps/@41.997261, ... 6656?hl=en

What's funnier is that it looked more "normal" in 2011.

Good catch... I did see that on the ground, but I thought it was a light housing. Nice that they replaced it with another mechanical! :TUP2:
