I'd assume those Advance Warning signals are used where corners are sharp and a railroad crossing is least-expected.

Streetview 20 years later. The cantilever is different, but it's nice to see the steam engine still in it's same spot:

Gate mast is also the same, with the same lights as well, though the bell and gate mech have been replaced.
Telegraph poles, too! :TUP1:

I'm going to assume that is more of a decoration owned by the business in that building there.

I'd lean on replicas here. It's run by a historical society, and if it were "very old," there would be some rust/fading somewhere there.

Not really a split crossbuck per se, but just an improperly-installed one-sided crossbuck. Split crossbucks would have double-sided lettering.

That might be the case today, but because it's made from cast-iron, it wouldn't surprise me if it was actually in service some decades ago.

A very classic, but strange, crossing:
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7759531 ... 6656?hl=en
The bell is mounted on its own mast in the middle of the crossing:
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7761525 ... 6656?hl=en
This was the view that I saw when I first looked at the crossing on street view. I thought it was a mixture of a one-signal-wonder and a bell-only crossing! But then I discovered the third signal...
