Considering that there aren't any railroad signals right there, I'd imagine that those display green to let the train crew know that it's okay to proceed.

This old style 'GIVE WAY" sign still stood in Drouin West, VIC in 2008.

A better picture of it.

Sadly, it was replaced by 2014. :Awww:

Here's an old yellow YIELD sign in Stevenson, AL, which is still there:

A couple of photos that I've taken of it back in 2014:

Some newer ones from 2015, and it's been there on subsequent visits:

Probably showing my age a bit... but I remember Yield signs being yellow... but mostly they just said Yield and did not have the "Right of Way" on them.

That was the third generation of yellow yield sign. The first generation wasn't even a triangle at all, but a keystone shape! Here's one in Fayette, AL that I need to go check out:

Unfortunately, there's no street view of the front, but you can tell it's one of these by the back of the sign. Also, they said "Right of Way" underneath the Yield like the second generation ones.

Can you read? Not just no parking... but no NO parking!

Kind of a double negative if you ask me... if there is no "No Parking" that means you can, right?
