New thread idea: Locations of NS tall masts

:LOL3:
Is NS known for tall masts?
Very much so. I know David has posted quite a bit of those all throughout this thread.

So... here is the other part of this post that I ran out of time for the other day. Although some these signals in Santa Maria looked to be in somewhat decent shape the last time Streetview came through here, I found some photos on Facebook that prove otherwise.

At this crossing here:

Here are some photos of the crossing being flagged for a train. The photographer said the gates at this crossing have been removed. No photos of the lights but I would assume the crossing is not operating at all. The photographer said a railroad employee told him that the gates had be removed so they could be cleaned!

This crossing is missing one of it's gates and is also being flagged. Nothing operating here at all.

The photographer said this crossing did not get flagged as at least one of the signals was operating, although you sure can't tell it from his photo.

Now... for the only crossing that was actually functioning correctly, some idiot decided he didn't have time to wait:

These are interesting:

That crossing has 3 of them. I'm guessing they are no right/left turn signs, but I have not seen ones that look like that before. Almost look like walk signals stacked on top of each other. You can make out the word "NO" on the top part of the above signal. Could that be neon?

The next crossing over, it has two like the above crossing does, but this one looks different and definitely resembles a walk signal:

Would be interested to see what these look like when the crossings are active.

Those appear to be Winkomatic neon signals, with a somehow combined visor attached to them. Interesting find!

They look more like Econolite 16 inch pedestrian signals to me.

And that one is an ICC 16 inch pedestrian signal, likely with a special lens that says "No Left Turn".

I wasn't too sure on that, since it had the "double visor" behind the cover there, but after looking at some Google images of Econolite signals, you're probably right.
