Looks like a train passed and the gates stayed down.
Google car was not the only one... http://goo.gl/maps/Dk1Tz
And the lights mid-flash:

Not sure why the signal needs to be this far back from the tracks...

Used to be another track that went through the crossing.

People who need a foot up their Ass affect the lives of many. There is still no cure for someone who needs a foot up their Ass, except a foot up their Ass
I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

How did I miss that? That also probably explains the signal right there on the side street, but I don't see how they can't just remove that and let the people who need to turn left turn left :aaargh:

The signal that should be removed is the one that you originally pointed out. Then the signal on the side street currently needs it's gate extended some, and turned towards the main road. Then put a good set of lights facing both directions (not all that mismatched crap), and your done.

I'm sure it's not all that easy, but still........

Never seen a block signal on the side of a street before:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 4&t=h&z=19

Looks like they had plans to continue the sidewalk at one point:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 9&t=h&z=18

This signal is in terrible shape:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 7&t=h&z=18

Another railroad crossing next to a tornado siren:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 9&t=h&z=20

Hmm...
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 2&t=h&z=19

Very classic cantilevers:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 2&t=h&z=19

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 7&t=h&z=19

Train:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 4&t=h&z=19
And an active crossing near-by:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 9&t=h&z=19
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 6&t=h&z=19

Another classic signal:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 2&t=h&z=18

More classic cantilevers in terrible shape:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 9&t=h&z=19
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 0&t=h&z=19
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 1&t=h&z=19

Even though the line is still in service, this signal appears to have been forgotten: :Cry1:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 9&t=h&z=20

One signal wonder:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 6&t=h&z=19

Odd signals:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 7&t=h&z=19

Active crossing:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 6&t=h&z=18

Overkill much?
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 7&t=h&z=19

More classic cantilevers:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 1&t=h&z=19

I think I found a sephmore (or however it is spelled) that's missing its banner:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 7&t=h&z=18

I wonder who took out this signal?
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=North+Oh ... 6&t=h&z=19
They/Them for me, please.
