That's probably just poor planning on the part of the municipality.

The stop sign is placed there due to the intersection next to the crossing being an all-way stop, and the town probably didn't want to place the stop sign were it would imply that drivers had to stop on the tracks...ToledoRailfan wrote: FRA Violation!
