Odd set-up in Richmond, KY:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7473213 ... 312!8i6656
It kind of reminds me of how some British MCB crossings (and their derivatives) have two gates that are on the same side of the road, such as this one:
https://www.google.com/maps/@52.9502559 ... authuser=0

A very classic L&N install:
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.7277239 ... 312!8i6656
In fact, other than the gates, the newest piece of equipment there appears to just be a WCH gate mech that was likely put in back in the 1980s!

And a nice gateless 1990s CSX install with a pair of WCH mechanical bell, both of which are painted black, interestingly enough!
https://www.google.com/maps/@37.6452265 ... 328!8i1664

A classic pair of Federal Signal cantilevers from the L&N. The lights appear to be a mixture of Federal Signal and WRRS 8 inch lights.

Another classic L&N install:

Looks like the mechanical bells might be dead there.
Knowing UP, they most likely are.

Interesting....
It use to look different.
-----------------------------
Classic cantilevers with modern lights!
-----------------------------
This post has two stop signs.
-----------------------------
Classic signals.
-----------------------------
Strange how the part of the tracks closest to the crossing are overgrown but the rest of the tracks seem fine.

https://www.google.com/maps/@44.3096858 ... 312!8i6656
-----------------------------
Yellow stripes!?
-----------------------------
I don't know why but I really like this crossing!
-----------------------------
I didn't know that safetran produced stuff like this, the other signal has an identical one.
-----------------------------
I wonder what this speaker is for and if it is related to the crossing.
-----------------------------
Here is a pretty cool pedestrian crossing!
-----------------------------
I wonder what this crossbuck is all about?

Looks like WABCO 8 inch lights there. Did you see the lens guards on the one signal there?

I've seen that a few times on various lines that are still used. Seems to be more common on shortlines though.

Maybe due to it being an exit gate? The other exit gate is the same way:

I do agree that it's very strange though. Wonder why they'd do something like that?

I agree with the exit gate theory. Interesting idea actually.

Did anyone move forward a little?

Nice catch there!

Why would those gates even be there? Is that an FRA violation, or maybe something recent? I doubt recent though because of the parallelogram (versus rectangular) striping.

Yea, ignoring how some of the gates had yellow instead of white stripes it is pretty odd to see Quad-gate setups on a small regional class 2/3.

Must be a quiet zone.

That makes sense, still pretty odd though.

It definitely is a quiet zone. There's a short median there, y'all. :LOL3:
