Looks like the area to the right used to be a fenced off parking area... and is now a driveway going right by where the old cantilever was. Maybe they were concerned it could have gotten hit?
The telephone pole (partially blocking the gated signal) is why that is still there I'm sure... but that is just ugly. If vision was the issue, why didn't they just leave it as a cantilever?

The second reason that this crossing is strange is that all of the crossbucks have two pieces that say "Railway Crossing" instead of the normal one piece that says "RAILWAY" and another that says "CROSSING". Normally the only time that you would see a crossbuck with a piece that says "RAILWAY CROSSING" is when the crossbuck also has "TRAVERSE DE CHEMIN DE FER" which is French for "RAILWAY CROSSING". Kind of odd that they would use two English language crossbuck pieces meant for Bi-lingual crossbucks and use them for one crossbuck! https://www.google.com/maps/@48.722158, ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@48.72239,- ... 6656?hl=en This crossbuck is probably just like the others at this crossing.
