Probably, otherwise I would think that they would have removed the signal or the lights or at least cover the lights.

That's the current generation of WCH 12 inch light. It seems that WCH has recently decided to drop support for incandescent equipment, and as such, they flattened the back on the lights.

Those are standard 12x20" Western Cullen-Hayes lights. The rear design was updated a year or two ago.

It was in early 2015/late 2014, IIRC. First ones I ever saw were on the HMCR in June of 2015.

I can see where you're coming from, but I think it looks nice. It's a nice departure from the previous WCH light-head design, which appeared to be heavily influenced by Safetran's design...
