If I had to say anything, the lights are probably sticking out like that because of the utility pole right there in front of it.

We used to have a crossing like that... and I hated it. It was (at the time) a 4-way intersection with 4 cantilevers with no lights on the mast. The only exception was one of the cantilevers had a pair of side lights on it.

NS (and the city of Springfield) eliminated the 4 way intersection a few years ago for safety reasons, and only the cross road goes through there now, with a normal set of gates at the crossing now. But, luckily one of the old Streetview images of the old crossing can still be viewed:

That's been on the site before somewhere, but it's intriguing. I'd estimate that those lights have been there for decades like that though since they are Griswolds.
I think that one's been on here as well.

Whats this? a regular crossbuck only crossing, but what do you see in the backround, a pole with only a GS E Bell. :Ohmy:
