CT is also the only state along the line where they still have crossings as well, IIRC.

In Northern Illinois... quad gates started showing up along the UP line between Chicago and St. Louis back in the early 2000's. I think I saw the first set along I-55 around 2001. This was for the high speed Amtrak train project. Here we are 16 years later and the project is still not fully complete.

That line happens to be the old routing of the old NS mainline through Lafayette. This stretch of track is now used as a lead and terminates just a bit farther down.

That was probably when Quad gate setups just started becoming a thing in the United States!
