Quite a strange looking crossing in Napier, New Zealand.

Heres a even stranger crossing! This one cuts through a roundabout!
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4904 ... 312!8i6656
Here is another crossing that cuts through a roundabout! They have Harmon 12x24 inch lights!
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4822 ... 312!8i6656
Back in 2010, they were original and incandescent!
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4822 ... 312!8i6656
There was even a base with a Griswold Mechanical bell!
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4820 ... 312!8i6656
But the equipment is yesterdays news, now there are WCH E-Bells.

However, on the other side, the Harmon 12x24 lights have been retrofitted with LED's, the Griswold Mechanical Bells were retained!

I guess i was wrong, they've gone now.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4816 ... 312!8i6656
This base is a bit too far from the crossing.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4818 ... 312!8i6656
This crossing has a sign saying "RAILWAY" and a sign signifying drivers that bells are off from 22:39 to 7:00
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4791 ... 312!8i6656
Sole surviving Harmon 12x24s.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4791 ... 312!8i6656
A rather unsafe passive crossing.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4779 ... 312!8i6656
Strange crossing.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4957 ... 328!8i1664
What lights are these?
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4944 ... 312!8i6656
Another crossing that runs through a roundabout.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4936 ... 312!8i6656
A December 2012 image shows one of the lights being WCH 12x20 inch lights with Harmon Dotted LED's.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4936 ... 312!8i6656
Crossing with rather strange looking cantilever.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4939 ... 312!8i6656
Wooden gates!
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.4980 ... 312!8i6656
Interesting crossing setup.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.5092 ... 312!8i6656
This crossing used to have lights mounted on a Griswold bracket!
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.5356 ... 312!8i6656
Some relatively old equipment.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.5555 ... 312!8i6656
Interesting equipment.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.6085 ... 312!8i6656
Active crossing.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.6214 ... 312!8i6656
What locomotive is that?
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-39.6214 ... 312!8i6656
Another active crossing.

That's a narrow-gauge line as well!

That is because 3 ft 6 in gauge is the primary gauge in New Zealand.

I think those lights were made in New Zealand by a company named Montrose of Penrose.

Maybe they were both damaged by a thunderstorm?
