How about an abandoned interstate section?

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.1677011 ... 312!8i6656

And here's an unfinished interchange:

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.7232231 ... 312!8i6656

And here's an unfinished interstate, which would've originally been I-170:

Today:

There also used to be a pair of main-line stubs and an unused sign bridge here:

The I-170 project (along with connecting I-70 to I-95, which is why it just ends at a Park 'n Ride built on the original main-line stubs for the interstate) was cancelled due to protests from residents (also known as a "freeway revolt"). One of these "freeway revolts" is also why the proposed I-420 in Atlanta, GA was never built. And here's where I-70 was originally planned to end at I-95:

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.271022, ... 6656?hl=en
Other side of where the interchange would've been:

https://www.google.com/maps/@39.268692, ... 6656?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.2698399 ... 6656?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.2688919 ... 6656?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.2686089 ... 6656?hl=en
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.2676622 ... 6656?hl=en

Abandoned and unfinished highways are another interest of mine.

Abandoned stuff, eh? Have y'all ever heard of the Church Hill Tunnel in Richmond, VA? It was a rail tunnel that collapsed in 1925 while a train was going under it, and they say the train's remains may still be underneath it!

Here's the west end, which is sealed off:

The east end of the tunnel is not on Street View, but it is not sealed off until about a few hundred feed in. However, it got flooded in 2004 by Hurricane Gaston, and floodwaters still stand there to this day.

Here's remnants of the line that the tunnel was a part of, with these pillars:

That crossing is pretty nice, with 8 inch lights, 12x20 inch lights, and 12x24 inch lights on both sides with gateless signals and mechanical bells. Also, RACO 12x20 inch lights! :TUP1:

Looks like both cantilevers have them!

That's how Massachusetts liked to do pedestrian signals back in the day. The red and yellow would be shown together to mean that pedestrians could cross.

I actually knew about that one from MA! Here's a video showcasing the sequence, btw:
