Re: Some flat sounding bells
Ain’t it always the safetrans... that particular one reminds me of Cherry Hill in PA.
Bells go "ding". Lights go "flash". And the WCH Gate Mechanism at Kirkwood Road goes "chigRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr".

Re: Some flat sounding bells
The Safetran mechanical bell that was here was extremely flat:
As you can see in the last clip though, the bell has since been replaced with a GS Type 2.
A WCH mechanical bell at 1:05 in this video sounds pretty bad as well:

Re: Some flat sounding bells
In the third video of this crossing in the below video, the GS Type 1 sounds a bit off when it starts, likely due to the rain at the time:
They/Them for me, please.

The Safetran mechanical bell here sounds like it's just about dead:

Filmed this Federal Signal bell with a cracked gong in South Carolina last month:

This one Safetran mechanical bell in Belleville, IL, still sounds pretty bad:
Neither of these Safetran mechanical bells sounds all that great either:

Re: Some flat sounding bells
The WCH e-bell on the closer signal in the first clip was pretty well messed-up:
They/Them for me, please.
