I visited the crossing today and can confirm that it is a Modern Industries bell. Got some pictures but won't be able to post until I get home.

I'm staying in the area for a couple of days and hope to film a train at the crossing. Also going to check out the Safetran m-bell at Wodonga and the Westinghouse teardrop bell at Yarrawonga.
Sweet! Does it have MI lights as well? Let me know if the other two crossings still have their equipment as well. Hope you can get trains at them!

Sadly it doesn't have MI lights, but WCH lights mounted on Westinghouse brackets. The visors are very long and seem to be custom made. Also found a pair of Harmon gate mechs still surviving at Henty which are the last ones left in the area.

Found a traffic school in Cranbourne East which has a set of gateless signals in it. From what I can make out, they have Safetran Type 3 E-Bells and Westinghouse lights.

Ironically, it's not too far away from where this abandoned crossing once stood.
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-38.116 ... 312!8i6656

The next crossing down the line was missing a signal!
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-38.127 ... 312!8i6656

Also, I just noticed that they've keep the signal bases and the relay cases at this crossing in Lang Lang.

Here's a downgraded crossing in Nyora. Originally, this crossing had an active setup. But was downgraded to crossbucks when the SGR took over the section from Nyora to Leongatha for tourist operations (though the group collapsed last year).

A crossing further up the line in Bena has a hybrid bell!

Here's a Teardrop bell at this crossing in Korumburra. (Though judging by the chipping paint, they probably didn't maintain the signals!)

There's also a vintage "BEWARE OF TRAINS" sign here, which used to be seen at Crib Crossings (Open/Passive Pedestrian crossings).
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-38.427 ... 312!8i6656

Found another Teardrop bell in Leongatha.

Also, I found an out of place passive crossing sign (with a hazard triangle!)
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-38.472 ... 312!8i6656

Yet another Teardrop bell in Leongatha.

Moving onto something else. Here's a Wig-Wag that's been statically preserved inside Coal Creek Historical Park in Korrumburra. I remember visiting this place back in 2013, and I got to see the Wig-Wag up close.

We've also got Steam loco K169 persevered here too!

From what I've read, this Wig-Wag likely came from that crossing in Korrumburra which I mentioned earlier in this post. Here's a picture from 1970 showing the Wig-Wag in action.

Had a successful day of filming. Got a train going past the Modern Industries bell at the Rock. Then went to Yarrawonga and filmed a train going past the Westinghouse teardrop bell which sounds nice & healthy. Finished off by filming a V-line passenger train going past the Safetran m-bell at Wodonga.

I hope you can get those Harmon gate mechs as well! Glad to hear that you had a successful day though, I'm looking forwards to the videos!

Going to try to catch a train going past those Harmon mechs today. There used to be lots of them here, they were used on most new installations during the 1980's but are now disappearing quickly.
