Pretty weird that they would put a sign with their name on a bridge like that. Nice find!NathanFromEngland wrote:Yep, this line was last used by Conrail, thanks to this faded sign.freebrickproductions wrote:Whatever railroad owned it when most of the tracks were torn out (likely Conrail based on the relay case) likely didn't want to remove the gantry. Wouldn't be surprised if the town or the state put that sign up.ToledoRailfan wrote:Pretty weird that they would put a sign with their name on a bride like that. I guess one stop sign for each sign wasn't enough for both sides of this crossing in Sahuarita, Arizona.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Crossbucks likely didn't have any stop signs originally, so the agency in charge of the road installed some. Then the railroad (looks to be BNSF or UP) installed new crossbuck assemblies that had stop signs on them, though the extra ones were never removed.ToledoRailfan wrote:I guess one stop sign for each sign wasn't enough for both sides of this crossing in Sahuarita, Arizona.

You'd think either BNSF would notify the municipality on that, or the municipality would notice, but nope...freebrickproductions wrote:Crossbucks likely didn't have any stop signs originally, so the agency in charge of the road installed some. They probably did notice/were notified, but just don't care.ZachL wrote:You'd think either BNSF would notify the municipality on that, or the municipality would notice, but nope...freebrickproductions wrote:Crossbucks likely didn't have any stop signs originally, so the agency in charge of the road installed some. Another interesting set-up in Alliance, OH:

Looks like a less exciting version of these signals down in Maumee.freebrickproductions wrote:Also, found this somewhat interesting signal near Atwater, OH:ZachL wrote:You'd think either BNSF would notify the municipality on that, or the municipality would notice, but nope...freebrickproductions wrote:Crossbucks likely didn't have any stop signs originally, so the agency in charge of the road installed some. Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Another pair of classic WRRS signals in Sebring, OH with newer Safetran 8 inch lights:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.920741, ... 6656?hl=en
Another signal with an interesting positioning for the lights, though likely due to how close the signal is to the road:

Not the place I'd expect to see no parking road markers...

Quite the interesting crossing there! Must be like this due to a near by Airport. The crossing itself was posted here in the past.
