Lookin' good there! I don't think there have been any noticeable changes between then and the time it's been on the site! :TUP1:

Well... there is this SMALL one. :Tongue1:
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@36.3274 ... 312!8i6656.

I'm kind of surprised the signals themselves are still the same though... as the next crossing over (Noble Ave) looked almost duplicate to this one, and now it looks like this:
https://www.google.com.au/maps/@36.3263 ... 312!8i6656

I wonder if the new relay box here could mean an upgrade is in it's future?

Noble Ave got an upgrade by 2011. The relay case at Mineral King Ave. was replaced at around the same time with no other changes to the crossing. It's probably safe for a while longer.
They/Them for me, please.

I would hope not! That's interesting though how the relay case got changed out. Maybe they ran out of money at the time Noble Avenue got upgraded, and they just kept Mineral King as is? :WOOT:

WRRS-Chicago wrote:Gary, Indiana. I'd go film them but it looks to me like trains don't come through there too often. A lot of this line is going to be re-located to make room for Gary Airport expansions. Also, you can see a rather unique design for the masts.

I'm also providing a link for the satellite view as much of this spur's length going east and west includes other teardrop bells on old signals (which pretty much all still have 8" lights). You can then select various street views of these crossings to check out the signals/teardrop bells.

Bumping this post up from a year and a half ago. Saw this video on YouTube and remembered the franken-signal at this crossing. That particular signal now has 12X24 lights. The video gives some great detail of both these signals. There are not in the best of shape, but still get the job done. And yes, the teardrop still works!
