whoops my bad still nice to see and here's and active crossing with a gp9

crossing before the train crosses while active

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.7636988 ... 312!8i6656

train next to the crossing!

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.7640445 ... 312!8i6656

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.7642191 ... 312!8i6656

train crossing!

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.764309, ... 312!8i6656

the gates rise!

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.7644136 ... 312!8i6656

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.7644823 ... 312!8i6656

all done

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.7645998 ... 312!8i6656

nice streetview shot of the train in question!

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.7650819 ... 312!8i6656

panoramic view

https://www.google.com/maps/@36.768932, ... 312!8i6656

and to add to irony i saw that locomotive pull eight cars about four weeks before the street view was taken and that's a good street view catch because the SJVR very very rarely runs down this stretch of track during the day they usually run between ten-twelve at night on Mondays with the occasional run on Saturday but there really predictable but sorry for getting of topic but i felt this had to be said

I think they're pretty common on local trains.

And plenty of shortlines also have them as well. A total of 2,222 GP38-2s were produced, not counting any GP38s that were upgraded and rebuilt into GP38-2s.

GE switcher of some weight. Honestly can't really tell them apart, personally, though AFAIK, GE was the only company to make center-cab switchers like that here in the US.
