I doubt it. Usually gasoline is subject to it's own set of taxes; state and federal.
You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

Wow, over a month since this thread last saw any action. Then again, the same could be said for gas prices.

But not anymore - stations around here are up 10 cents from what they were at on Monday!

Yeah, everyone around here finally went over $2/gallon this week for the first time in quite a while. $2.09 is about the average in the Story County area.

We were sitting at $1.91 here for about a week... until Wednesday. It jumped .38 cents up to $2.29! Something must have happened... or somebody got scared that something was going to happen.

More hikes today. Now the average in my area is about $2.29 - up 4 cents from just yesterday and up about 11 cents from just a week ago.

For a time last week, gas had been dropping slowly. But this week it went from $2.27 to $2.37.

Two days later, and another price hike. Super unleaded jumped to 2.15/9 today... and now Diesel is cheaper than unleaded. (With the exception of E-85)

Prices over here are now averaging $2.37. Still a 17-cent jump in just one week.
