Seems like a pretty big chunk of money that was wasted for downgrading a crossing and splitting a residential estate in half.
Was the road fully downgraded or just the crossing closed off to automobile traffic?

I can't tell, i assume the road was closed off but street view managed to get through prior to closure. There were barriers that were ready to be placed on both ends of the road.

Plus, the road here will take you down right by an industrial estate, so i can't tell if this is their so called new "access road"

Edit: The road was closed off according to Google Earth, but i still wonder why it was closed.
