Active crossing in Gastonia, NC, with an NS slug-set working a local freight:

It seems the street-view driver decided to get up-close and personal with the GP40-2 on this train:

Street view caught another NS local freight going through this crossing in Douglasville, GA, back in 2019:

CSX signal maintainers out in Braden, TN. Looks like they were replacing a gate arm:

This is an unusual set-up:

Per older imagery, it replaced a pair of gateless cantilevers. No idea why UP chose to install the gates on the median signals rather than the shoulder signals though.

Certainly don't have to worry about hitting overhead lines. Although it might be smart to install some small crash barriers in front of the median signals.

Active crossing to the west of Wellsville, KS on the Emporia Sub.
https://www.google.com/maps/@38.7077076 ... FQAw%3D%3D
Google managed to make it out to Marshall, Missouri following the crossing upgrades/closures that occurred earlier in the year. Starting off with Miami Ave which used to have a pair of older Gateway Western era gateless signals and 1 GS E-Bell (either type 1 or 2).
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1227479 ... FQAw%3D%3D
Next crossing to the east after Benton Ave was closed up is Lyon Ave which used to have a pair of gateless cantilevers with 1 Safetran Mechanical Bell, now is a 3 gated setup with 3 unnecessary crossbucks and an extra gated signal guarding a nearby business.
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1236652 ... FQAw%3D%3D
Next crossing to the east at Boyd St which also had a pair of gateless cantilevers (this time with a Safetran Hybrid Bell) was replaced with a regular gated mast setup with English Ave, and Jefferson Ave were turned into dead ends sadly.
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1243882 ... FQAw%3D%3D
Lastly Odell Ave which had a gateless setup with 1 mast signal, and cantilever and a Safetran Mechanical Bell (later a reused GS Type 1), was replaced with this overkill gated setup with 1 long cantilever despite the road being a residental street.

No idea why CPKC had the need to upgrade/close off the crossings in Marshall, and only in this town with other crossings on the line remaining unchanged despite the Mexico Sub only seeing 4-6 trains daily. Unfortunately this means the line only has two Hybrid Bells left on the line with the ones in Alma, and Corder remaining as the two in Marshall are now gone. Line went from having 6 hybrid bells on this line to now just two (with the one in Corder supposedly being revived from what I was told by a friend). No idea if CPKC will eventually upgrade every crossing on the Mexico Sub in the future or not since they did upgrade parts of the Pittsburg Sub this year, and the signals around Air Line Junction.

Here's an interesting progression with the northbound signal at 124th St. (now apparently named "Boundary Road") on the northwestern fringes of Milwaukee, WIsconsin (WSOR, until 2022 WSOR and CN).

August 2013: The "original" signal (with then-relatively recently installed 12" L.E.D.s) and its WRRS mini bell:

November 2015: Signal is knocked down:

October 2016: Replacement signal with GS e-bell is up:

September 2019: Same:

November 2021: Now the signal has a rusty old mechanical bell on it, and is seen in action as a train is approaching!

May 2024: Now back to a GS-bell!
