It looks like Knott's Berry Farm might have stables for some of their horses out in that field when you look at the satellite view. That crossing is how they get them in and out of the park safely.
Interesting! Guess I should've had a bit more looks at this intersection.
I'd still post it as it is interesting in its own right.

Is it just me, or do the bottom amber lights on some Y-Y-R signals look a bit darker than most traffic signal amber lights?

This setup is pretty interesting as well, there is only one pair of signals. They "activate" when a train approaches, but they don't warn motorists of a train (although they can be used as that though), they warn motorists of passengers boarding the train from station, hence why there is only one pair of signals. I wonder if they activate when freight trains come through.

That's because it appears that those are Red LEDs, making them R-Y-R signals. BTW, most people list the colors (and/or indication sizes) from the top down.

I've seen it both ways I think. I use to do it the other way (found that out by searching through my posts in a Facebook group), I must've gotten mixed up at one point.

A flashing red indication has the same meaning as a stop sign, though it's entirely possible that the town is misusing the flashing red.

I know, that is why I pointed out that there isn't a stop sign and how there isn't a reason to stop unless the signals are solid red.
