The one on the 12x24 inch signal definitely was, but the one on the 8 inch signal might be original.NathanFromEngland wrote:Still there as of 2018, although the real question to ask if the bells were reused.freebrickproductions wrote:Rice Street, Latta, SC:

A pair of WABCO Teardrop bells at this crossing in Italy that at least sound reasonably healthy:

I agree. The paint jobs further back your thoughts, too.freebrickproductions wrote:The one on the 12x24 inch signal definitely was, but the one on the 8 inch signal might be original.NathanFromEngland wrote:Still there as of 2018, although the real question to ask if the bells were reused.freebrickproductions wrote:Rice Street, Latta, SC:

Two WABCO Teardrops in Italy, though one sounds extremely rough (almost completely dying after a while) while the other sounds like it may be starting to go on its way out:

Here's a pair of WABCO(?) Teardrops in Turin, Italy:
https://www.google.com/maps/@40.9131623 ... 312!8i6656
However, I'm not entirely sure if they are WABCO, as the branding on the signal bases and bells appears to be somewhat different.
Per this video, one of them appears to be dead while the other is starting to sound a bit rough, sadly:
Interestingly enough though, the lights are of similar design to the GRS XB/XD lights, though they appear to be based off of a US&S 8 inch light. They honestly kinda remind me of those McK&H lights that McK&H Aust. (the user on here) filmed last year, only with the rear lights still attached:

These Signals will always top the cheap, newer stuff Railroads are buying these days. These Older Signals were truly built to last!freebrickproductions wrote:Here's a pair of WABCO(?) Teardrops in Turin, Italy:

Found some videos which show different branding....freebrickproductions wrote:Here's a pair of WABCO(?) Teardrops in Turin, Italy:

If you pause this video at 0:59 you can see Westinghouse Torino on the teardrop bell
At 0:26 this video shows Westinghouse Torino on the signal base and at 0:31 the teardrop bell has Ansaldo on the rain shield

Here's another pair of Westinghouse Torino Teardrops in Italy:
Not entirely sure what the timeline for manufacture is, but I'm willing to bet that the Westinghouse Torino branded ones came first.

Re: Locations Of Currently Existing US&S TEARDROPS
Here's a pair in Italy, One of the signals was destroyed in a serious derailment when a train hit a truck carrying oversize load that had became stuck on the crossing Engineer and someone else was killed, so i guess they reused another WABCO teardrop. Accident happened around a month before GSV came rolling through, so cleanup was quick. Truck driver survived because the train impacted its trailer, not the truck itself.
