When I was growing up my grandma lived next to RR tracks. That is how I became a railfan. Trains waking me up in the middle of the night was never a problem. In fact, I would get angry at myself if I didn't wake up right away and missed part of the train. Was so upset when activity on those tracks dwindled and we were lucky to see a train at all when we visited her.
She lived in the blue house across the tracks in this view:

Was in the Miami area over the Thanksgiving holiday. Saw these traffic lights that appear to have 3M green sections in them on each side. Kind of odd to have just one of the lights like this, plus the visors are round instead of the normal square-ish.

Also saw several signals along this road that still have incandescent yellow and green sections, but LED red's. Very odd to find that this day and age, especially on heavy traveled roads.
