Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
This is kind of an odd signal. https://www.google.com/maps/@44.330052, ... 1664?hl=en

One crossbuck wonder. https://www.google.com/maps/@44.333378, ... 1664?hl=en
-----------------------------
Bell only crossing. https://www.google.com/maps/@44.24123,- ... 1664?hl=en
-----------------------------
Some nice 8'' signals. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.432948, ... 1664?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@43.432802, ... 1664?hl=en

-----------------------------
That is a unique way to have to crossbucks on one post, notice the arrow sign and the yellow paint on the post. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.328491, ... 6656?hl=en
For some reason, both crossbucks have yellow reflective tape on the back of the crossbucks, the other crossbuck post has yellow paint too. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.328554, ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@43.328554, ... 6656?hl=en
-----------------------------
This is just weird, look how far the lights are separated from each other! This is because of a telephone poll. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.326854, ... 6656?hl=en
-----------------------------
These crossbucks also have yellow tape on the back, and yellow paint on their posts, looks like they are getting replaced by Crossbuck-Yield sign combinations. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.325753, ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@43.325749, ... 6656?hl=en
-----------------------------
This is not a crossing, this is a cool little railroad bridge! https://www.google.com/maps/@43.323097, ... 6656?hl=en
-----------------------------
Another one of those crossbucks with the yellow paint on their post and yellow tape on the back is being replaced by Crossbuck-Yield sign combinations. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.276493, ... 6656?hl=en
-----------------------------
Also not a crossing, this is a cool tunnel that goes under the railroad tracks! Looks like at one point it was a Railroad tunnel, if so, it would probably have been a narrow gauge railroad, if this was a railroad tunnel, it would have not have been in use for a while sense the last commercial narrow gauge railroads in the U.S died out a long time ago. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.266991, ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@43.267341, ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@43.267505, ... 6656?hl=en

It's a warning for the train crew that the signal is extremely close to the tracks. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.943639, ... 6656?hl=enToledoRailfan wrote:Odd sign. Its hard to read because Google blanked it out. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.943638, ... 6656?hl=en

Think those are for the maintainer to help climb up to change light bulbs. Not so necessary now that those are LED's.ToledoRailfan wrote: Looks almost as if these signals use to have those lights on the bottom like some signals use to have. The one in Blissfield use to have them before it was updated. https://www.google.com/maps/@41.936165, ... 6656?hl=en

That's most likely what they are. There are a few crossings in my area with them.cabman701 wrote:Think those are for the maintainer to help climb up to change light bulbs. Makes sense, too high to work on from the ground and too low for a ladder.freebrickproductions wrote:That's most likely what they are. Doesn't appear that the stop signs rotate anymore, but at least they left one them in there! The other one appears to have had its one removed.
They/Them for me, please.
