I have a lot of questions about this setup. https://www.google.com/maps/@44.197649, ... !1e1?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@44.197905, ... !1e1?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@44.197893, ... !1e1?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@44.197905, ... !1e1?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@44.198156, ... !1e1?hl=en
Very interesting intersection there. Have never seen a traffic light mounted directly to a building before either: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.198016, ... 6656?hl=en

I've always thought those signals with the extra lights on top were weird looking. As of this year, I have found out they are more common that I thought they were. Yet I have yet to see one in person.
Agreed... I guess money might be a factor (for not putting in cantilevers). But still... it just looks weird.

Found this active, but barely used (like one train a day according to the FRA), Heart of Georgia line in (of course) Georgia. Got some interesting sites along it.
A rather poor looking signal in Milan, GA:
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.019414, ... 64!6m1!1e1

One signal wonder:
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.180931, ... 56!6m1!1e1

There used to be some lights here:
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.190024, ... 56!6m1!1e1
Also, for some reason, there's only one gate:
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.18992,- ... 56!6m1!1e1
Though satellite view shows that the gate mast has been removed and the gateless signal has had its lights removed. The overhead lights still exist though.

Here's another sad looking signal:
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.187507, ... 56!6m1!1e1

At this point, the line becomes the Georgia Central and it starts looking a lot better:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Rhine ... 4c!6m1!1e1
They/Them for me, please.

Passed by this crossing a lot before I moved to Florida. Not active, but unique in that it has an extra set of lights pointing towards the S curve in the road on both sides.

Those extra lights become of little use for passenger cars around this time of year when the corn grows, they are almost completely obstructed. But once the corn is harvested, they do make it much easier to see the crossing active while getting ready to approach that curve. It sort of reminds me of the signals that have the extra set of lights on top.

This line was nearly dead for many years, but for the last 5 years or so has been used regularly to service a power plant about 10 miles to the east.
