The GS Type 1 is very rare to find. even on Railroads. Most type 1's have been replaced with the more popular (Only to Railroads) Type 2. If you were to look for one, I'd ask a signal maintainer. That would be your best bet of finding one. Good luck to you sir.

Thanks for the advice. I am convinced after hearing the Type 2 however that it can be adjusted to sound exactly like the Type 1. My profession is music and if you listen to the clips on the site with the Type 2 being adjusted it hits the exact tone of the Type 1. Perhaps I would be better off to get a Type 2 and adjust it. Type 1 is sounding 554Hz, thats C#, interestingly, my US&S Teardrop sounds 554Hz as well, they indeed sound the same pitch! It is the Timbre of the Teardrop vs the General Signals E bell that set them apart, that is they are making the exact same musical sound, but the tone quality is different.

So tell us what the WCH noise makers are musically set to? (Scared cat? Air raid siren? Tires screeching?)
Just the facts, ma'am.
