Dumbarton Line (California)

I stumbled upon this completely by accident. The Dumbarton line crossed the San Francisco Bay up until 1982 when the line was mothballed. In 2004, the voters approved funding to rebuild the line and I think it's because of this that the tracks look so clear of foliage in Street View. In it's current state, the line is packed with searchlight block signals, 8" crossing lights, mechanical bells, and triangle gates!!

Older photos of the line before cleanup started can be found here.

Trace the line west from the Bay here west through Menlo Park. You'll see searchlight signals and all sorts of classics at the crossings through here.
