They actually did it....

There was something like that being proposed for the MUTCD 2009. I don't know if it went ahead or not, but that is just weird...

Somebody HAS to get pictures and/or a video of those little suckers in action!

Judging by the sign to the left of the crossing, a lot of golf carts go through that little crossing there.

Oh, and if you hadn't noticed... this is the same rail line that uses the unsignalized crossings in this thread.

the Mar. 2007 issue of Trains had a pic of it.
