Anyone have their own name for grade crossing signals?

Talk about crossing signal lights, bells, and gates here.

Anyone have their own name for grade crossing signals?

Post by Robert_Gift »

"Mee-Mool" lights!
As a 5-year-old, maybe younger, I perceived a "sound" from the flashing grade crossing signalights.
I did not hear any actual sound, but noticed an "aural effect" likely perceived in thearing part of the brain.
So, I named railroad crossing signals "Mee-Mool" lights after the "sound" I heard and have called them that ever since.
My family and friends all know the meaning!

Athe Walnut Street grade crossing near my grandmother's house in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, the Mee-mool light's left lamp was a little brighter, which I perceived as "Mee".
The right lamp, aimed a little more right, did not appear as bright - "Mool"
So when they operated, I perceived "Mee, Mool, Mee, Mool, Mee, Mool . . ."

The same still occurs to this day.
For example: If I see a flashing yellow light on a dark road, I perceive a white noise like: "ahhhhhh"..... [OFF] ....."ahhhhhh"................"ahhhhhh" . . . as it lights.
We all probably perceive this but merely ignore it - as I do the voices in my head.
(I should not make too much fun. A friend claims to hear voices telling him to not be gay and to believe the Christian fairytale.
He actually suspected that a church put speakers outside his house.
In EMS I have had similar patients.)
I'm now self-employed but my boss is a moron.
My life is an open book. Unfortunately, I'm illiterate.
My patients' arrhythmias straighten themselves out!!

People who need a foot up their Ass affect the lives of many. There is still no cure for someone who needs a foot up their Ass, except a foot up their Ass
I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.
