A new type of gate guard?

I noticed this on the most recent update on the site at the Ashland, KY crossing.

I know there are no gates at this crossing yet, but notice the guard around the cantilever lights. It will guide the gate around the cantilver and lights if the gate is blown that direction by the wind and keep it from getting hung up on the cantilever.

I have seen that happen before on a crossing here... the gate got stuck on the cantilever. The gate remained in that position and the lights flashed for 2 hours until the next train came through, then the gate went up as normal. It will also keep the visors on the rear lights from getting torn up by the gate. I have seen that happen before too.

Neat idea!

Something like that happened back in Arizona back in January, it was on a day when we had high winds and the engineer called in that the gate at 83rd was stuck on the cantilever and didnt lower.

here is the signal in question:

thats to prevent damage/the gate getting caught on the lights or cantilever.
that is a product thats installed on most new cantilevers

Those are there to keep problems like this from happening(I know it is a mast crossing, just pretend it is a cantilever)
