Mike's Railroad Crossing Forum

Anyone else watch Mythbusters and then when you see scenes where there are railroad tracks in the area, kind of look around to see if there are any interesting crossings nearby on StreetView?
I'm watching the see-saw myth with the girl getting launched by the skydiver... they're working at the Mare Island Naval Station... and looking around, came across this unique cantilever setup on Streetview! I wonder if the line gets any use anymore...

Hmm... there are setups picture a block or two away from here that look brand new... but follow the line a mile or so further, and all the crossings have had the gates removed.

I do know of a street running line nearby that gets tri-weekly service... I wonder if that is it?

I doubt that if it was still used they would put road markers in the middle of the track.

Revisiting this thread tonight, I've noticed that the streetview and satellite views have been updated, and it looks as though the line is now back in service again. Not only have the markers now been removed from road, but all the out of service crossings have had signals repaired, gates added, crossbucks replaced, etc...
