You can cross the tracks and find another derelict crossing.

I complain about no bell installations too. A minimum of 2 bells is what I'd require on crossings of Today.

I know they were too cheap to maintain them but in this day and age use an e-bell

I often wish more crossing on the KB&SR (Kankakee, Beaverville, and Southern Railroad) had bells... or more than just two crossings with them. Then again, there are only two maintainers on the entire railroad with many many crossings and tons of track. Again, based on a old NYC mainline.
Cool crossing, just needs another signal in my mind.
Cheers,
Joshua

They weren't too cheap, they just had no reason to put them up outside the cities and towns. No pedestrians, no bells. Even in towns at the less busy crossings they wouldn't install them. I guess they figured (as I do) if you can walk out in front of a big a$$ train blaring its horn and not see, hear, or feel it, you deserve to be dead because thats what you're about to be.
On another note, my 60 year old US&S 15A Spade bell would still outlast your piece of crap pvc type whatever $hit bell
YOU GOT THAT RIGHT
have you found any teardrops for me yet

I also agree that ANY mechanical bell trumps any e-bell anyday.

THANKS KLM92
HELL yah mike
M-bell hook up the dc wrong it just doesnt work
ANY static electricity to an e-bell will fry the sucker
salt on a circuit board killes them
pvc pipe fades and looks like SHIT
I've seen M-bells get knocked off signals and survive
gs e-bell signal gets tapped and the thing snaps in half
satetran type 1s are not durable but sound the best
the best e-bell out there is the WCH as far as durability sound is nice too and they dont fade
these bells were put up in 98 and look at them
So
heres the list
US&S
WABCO
WCH minus the plastic armature
the hybrid
and the only e-bell id use WCH
