People seem to have a hard time seeing/paying attention to a RAILROAD signal, so maybe they will pay more attention to a traffic signal. (Hopefully) I don't like the look of it but if it saves lives I'm all for it.

I'm sure the thought is that people will be less likely to run the steady red light of the traffic signal. However... putting normal crossing signals with gates would be the better option in my opinion.

Whats sad is a lot of crossing on this track HAVE gates and lights
BUT SEPTA IS REMOVING THEM to put up the traffic lights.
and people will NOT stop for a solid red traffic light more than a crossing arm.
