Northfolk Southern just announced that it will be bringing out 18 heritage units.10 will be SD70ACes, and the others will be ES44ACs
The EMDs will be painted in the factory, while Altoona will paint 5 ES44s, and the remaining 3 will be painted at Chattanooga
The 18 predecessor railroads selected for heritage paint are:

• Central of Georgia
• Conrail
• Erie
• Erie Lackawanna
• Lehigh Valley (red)
• New Haven (not definite yet)
• New York Central
• Nickel Plate Road
• Norfolk & Western (blue)
• Penn Central
• Pennsylvania (Tuscan Red)
• Pittsburgh & West Virginia
• Reading
• Savannah & Atlanta
• Southern
• Tennessee, Alabama & Georgia
• Virginian
• Wabash

These paint schemes will be accurate, not the fictional paint schemes UP has.

Really? I'll have to tell my friend who works for UP that one to see what he thinks.

A few of those have nothing to do with the heritage of Southern or Norfolk and Western (NS's Heritage) ...Seems they are really stretching it trying to go back on Conrails heritage, but whatever

I thought the same thing since Conrail was split up between NS and CSX so some of them are just as much CSX's heritage as NS's. I am upset they forgot about Illinois Terminal (N&W).

Mr. Terry Respondek owner of RRC, painted some of his units into the Illinois Terminal scheme and even came out with a heritage unit.

I considered that but dont forget about the 17 (as of 2-18-12) units in Conrail paint as well as the 2 E8A's in Pennsy paint.

What that means is that the UP units are composite and tribute schemes and not actual schemes.

I like that better, look at the CNW unit looks the exact same as the CNW paint, its boring at hell.
The units are designed as a tribute to railroad employees that worked for previous railroads and to show their heritage.
Not for damn foamers to foam all over.

On that note, the huge SD unit in Madison Ga. is about to be shipped back to Illinois, and there is a lease unit there now.
