Tell me if you guys agree or not but the first thing I thought of when I saw this was Japanese signals....

Maybe not Japanese... but confused for sure. I'm guessing that thing means there were trains present on both tracks? (Even though we only saw one on the closest track to us?)
Signs for stupid people like that are going to pop up all over the place.
UP is already testing them out in Chicago land.
Now once we start using black and orange signs and make it a law cars must stop at a railroad crossing even if it has signals then I would say were turning Japanese.

They don't even work 100% of the time. I once saw a 3-way meet in Wheaton, two Metra's and a freight. The freight activated the crossing and the Metra passed through while the freight was crossing. The ATWS turned on for that Outbound Metra but then the OB Metra and the freight cleared at almost the same time, the ATWS shut off and 10 seconds after the crossing being clear an Inbound Metra hit the crossing.
