Looks like RACO lights on these Griswold rotating stop sign signals.

Interesting concept. That will allow any kinds of lights to be used, and not just Griswolds. Just wait until 12"x24" light start appearing there though.

I thought that crossing and those signals looked familiar. I saw those signals in person (this was about ten years ago). A more recent view shows that the rotating banner signals were replaced.

indeed you were. Too bad. Those RACO lights looked brand new in that picture.

those signals probably have a timer on them that if the train doesn't cross the grade they shut off. Also notice the ditch lights were off, so he wasn't moving. I bet thats why the signals were off.

I had a hard time believing that the 1st picture and the Street View picture were the same crossing. The buildings in the background appear to be a lot farther away in the Street View picture. Street View must use a convex-like camera to give you a wider view.

Too bad those Griswold's are gone. Looks like someone was taking some decent care of them.

The signals could of been manually activated... Just an idea...

That's how my signals looked, see? ;)

Painted mine with a brush instead of sprayed.
Sprayed looked whiter and dull to me and didn't last worth any
thing either. :/

The black hoods and backgrounds/banners would look bad first,
if ordinary flat black paint was used. Must have been '76 we got
some 3M "solar panel" paint, $180 for 3/4 gallon.

That stuff was amazing! :)
It'd outlast brush-painted aluminum paint by about triple easy.
It'd outlast ordinary flat black paint by 10 times.

It was only supposed to be used on the train signals tho.
