What the is that? That engine looks like a frigging buss with a coupler on the front.
Can't wait till TTCI crashes that shit, I want to see that.

They're cab cars, they have a small diesel engine in them for head-end power, but that's it. The other end of the train will be coupled up to an Amtrak P42DC or F59PHI.
...and yeah I agree their look is an acquired taste, but they've grown on me.

I wonder if they did focus-group studies on proposed exterior designs. If so, they obviously didn't include railfans in their groups!
However, the interiors of the trains are really nice as you see in the video.
