odd WRRS mini bell

Post by aspengf8 »

hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and deccided to post something about my mini bell. I won it on ebay a few years back for a rather hefty $500 shipped after a bid war but as you can see from the video it's not a normal mini bell, i've seen some normal WRRS mounted in a similar way but never a mini bell. maybe some of you have more info on it. sorry, i'm still a noob with forums I don't remember how to add a link so just add that chunk of the link to youtube.com and it should work... /watch?v=RFpLiWAEz8g also, I added photo

I'm thinking it came that way because it was mounted on a wigwag before

Maybe not just a wigwag.. it looks like a bell that is meant to be mounted onto a mast on the side.. I have seen pictures of mechanical bells before that are mounted onto the masts from the side instead of at the top, and I could have sworn I had seen a picture of a mini bell mounted on the mast on the side rather than at the top as well.

i'd like to see the picture if you ever find it, like i've mentioned i've seen pictures of full size WRRS bells mounted like that on wigwags cantilevers and normal masts. basically i'm trying to find a bit of it's history where it might have been from originally and how rare it is

Here's the picture I was referring to: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=267484

I found it in this thread and a post or two down from that mentions a mini bell that was on eBay that had a mounting like that.. maybe it was the mini bell you own? :Tongue2: Dunno though because the thread is from 2009 :p

that sounds like my bell alright by far the most expensive I own, I paid less for my P3 horn. that picture helps alot, gives me a better idea how it would have been mounted and where it might have been from
