this is Bull :Censored: , it sounds like the only reason they are doing this is so that jibblet head developer can make money, since when does making money override public saftey. And i know whats going to happen, some people are going to notice the quiet zone then want it at the crossings by there house, people will notice that and want it at there crossings and before you know it, all the track between Mobest Yard and Whittman will be a quiet zone! The really funny part is that they did a story on the news about a month ago about how unsafe some of the crossings along grand ave. are. Again, we are only doing this so this dippy developer can sell his cr :Censored: y styrofoam and chicken wire houses. This is just stupid beacuse it is telling the idiot drivers that you only have to stop and look, no longer listen. Way to go!  :redx: :redx:

Well it's like a year and a half later... So, how'd it go? :) Still a quiet zone?
If I were on a jury and there was an accident there, I'd rule against the city.
It's obvious as anything they are more concerned with property values than safety.

Yep. It's quiet, along with about another 10-15 crossings in the state as well.

I noticed on the Beaver St. page you said they were considering putting up pedrestrian gates. IDK if they would have either attached them to the existing signals or added seperate gate motors, but it's seems evident from what they ended up putting there that the gates would have been way too costly. Plus, the process may have involved moving some signals, as one of the gateless signals on San Francisco St. is right in the middle of the sidewalk as opposed to off to the side of it, so if they were to attach a gate to that signal, they'd have to move it first.

BTW, do those crossings have Wayside horns installed at this time?

No pedestrian gates have been installed, and yes, Fanning and Steves have wayside horns now.

Are there any talks about placing them at Beaver St., San Francisco St., or Enterprise Rd.? They look like they get a lot of traffic (trains, vehicles and pedestrians) and could use them.
