Since any of us may find ourselves is this situation, I thought I'd post this link. Some of it is common sense, but there is a lot of good info here. May save your life... The course is free. If you take the final exam, and register, FEMA will even send you a pdf file with your certificiate on it.

Better response than the police that would take 25 mins to show up to draw a chalk line around mine or your body.

Pretty sure I aced it, but it takes a couple of days to get the final results.

You're right, a lot of it is common sense... but there were some things I didn't think about. Like silencing your phone so that the shooter could not hear it ring (or if someone texts you) if you are trying to hide from them.
