ATCS monitor Radioshack Pro 94 scanner tap problems

Anybody have any idea if how I can tap a Radioshack Pro 94 scanner.Tried the directions for pin on Google and it did not work.Supposedly pin 9 is supposed to work but I wanna be sure before I open her up again to do surgery.Wanting to use the scanner for ATCS mon out in the field.
