Union Pacific Santa Cruz branch out of service?

This is old but :OhWell:

UP has taken over the Santa Cruz branch for now but they are apparently putting it up for sale. Also as an update, the section starting with california street is Closed

Bump!

First and foremost, Santa Cruz Portland Cement #2, an 0-4-0T affectionately nicknamed "The Chiggen", made several runs and a deadhead down the branch in July of this year:

Also of note, Iowa Pacific now handles passenger service on the branch, destined to resume this year after the structurally-deficient La Selva Beach Trestle is replaced with a new structure. As per WCRF user 1TrickPony on said thread, the parts are all fabricated and will be installed beginning next month. In the meantime their cab units will work the line east of La Selva Beach, including handling the ever-growing Watsonville locals--increased by a thousand cars a year by the opening of the Northstar Biofuels facility--while Mount Hood #89 is out.
